the reasons I dislike living in dorms

There was a 37 year old man sleeping in the next room last night.

My roommate and I, for obvious reasons, locked our door.

I can't wait until Saturday... when everybody moves out and the dorms will be free of creepy visitors and random people showing up at random times of day. Not that I mind the people showing up, it's just that I wish the people inviting them would have the good graces to a) ask the rest of us if it is okay for them to be over here and b) tell us who is coming when.

I could have gotten a certain roommate thrown out of housing on so many accounts already... having candles (and leaving them burning while she left for an indefinite period of time without telling any of us she was leaving) which are an extreme offense here in the first place, and having her boyfriend over smoking in the non-ventilated bathroom in a non-smoking room.

I think if I'd been here for that incident, I would have played the cancer card and laid it on really really thick, wishing cancer on both of them and hoping that they have it in a really really terrible form and that it is never cured and become refractory so that they both have to have exceptionally painful treatments that last for years until finally they die.

I really need to work on mildness.

And the thing is, I don't really object to smoking that much. I don't smoke personally, but it doesn't bother me when other people around me do, provided that it doesn't happen in my home where I live and where I can't get the stench out of my clothes and everything.

I am going to Starbucks now. Yes, I know it is a sellout. Oh. Well.
