And today, I was late because...

mood: aggravatedaggravated
music: Richard Marx & Donna Lewis - At The Beginning

I overslept today. I woke up at 11 am, half an hour after I was supposed to be into the Lab. And that's when I woke up. By the time I got there, I was well over an hour late. Fortunately, today was a day where I could be late and have it not matter.

Still, I was in an unpleasant mood most of the day, in part due to lack of sleep and in part due to the pitiful quality of what little sleep I did have.

My roommate, you see, snores, and snores very loudly. I was able to drift off to her catchy midnight nasal harmonics once last night, only to be startled into wakefulness by a louder version of them around 5:30. I tried to go back to sleep, tried twisting around and burying my head under pillows and everything I could think of until finally I had an uncanny desire to throw a pillow at her head in hopes it would shift her into a position where the snores that kept me awake would cease.

I woke up this morning with an uncanny desire to invest in BreatheRight Nasal Strips for her, just so that I can sleep. But I think somehow that it would insult her to ask her to wear them. Fortunately, she is only here an average of two nights a week, and will be moving out in less than three weeks in any case. I still wish she were here less.

And the thing is, I could deal with the snoring if it weren't for the fact that today it made me very very late. And while I don't like to be late, I will tolerate being a few minutes late, but over an hour late is unacceptable. Thus I am still in a bitter mood.

I had the same problem. There was this girl that snored so loud that I could never get sleep. I bought her Breathe Right strips and she said that she wouldn't wear them because they looked funny. I about killed her!
