I do. And I am not happy about it.

I submitted my poem at poetry.com in my dream world, it could win a contest. In the real world, this poem:

Friday morning, cold and lonely
I walk through streets
strangely empty.

But the wind, the icy wind
in this windtunnel of
buildings, buildings many stories lining
the concrete
takes hold of my small frame
rips at me
races through me

I catch a snowflake on my tongue and smile
Because I am in New York and it is winter and
the whole world is a photograph,
black and white and shades of gray
(except my soft red scarf -- brand new)
even the sky swirls of white with gray ice

Snow gathers on eyelashes, my coat. I smile.

will not get me very far. But I like it anyway.
