Sometimes, it sucks to be a scientist.

I am in the process of attempting to print out a journal article for my lab... one that is approximately 16 pages long and one which I have to have read by 12:30 tomorrow. I've managed to print out the text pages, but find myself left with 4 pages that are image-dense to print out.

So far, it has taken me over an hour to print two of these pages. Over an hour, people.

The reason, of course, that I am printing these now in the first place is that I had attempted to print them earlier, while I was at work, but the computer from which I attempted to print crashed about 4 times and kept giving me that evil warning: "You are running out of virtual memory space. Close one or more applications to free resources."

It is, of course, much easier to close 'one or more applications' when you have more than two applications running and the two you have running are acrobat reader and the printer status utility.

I'm not bitter or anything. Really.

If I were smarter, I would be reading the rest of the article as I sit here, printing out the few select pages which are, due to inordinate file size taking eons to print, however I am not smarter and thus I do not have my highlighter with me. Unfortunately, I am incapable of reading journal articles without at least having a pen in hand, let alone a highlighter in order to make notes to myself of questions and comments I wish to bring up in journal club.

Some days, I hate science.
