I hate the last three weeks of school. This week is finally a much-needed Thanksgiving break and though I am going out of town hoping to relax and enjoy it, I know that I will have to spend some chunk of time doing work. Yesterday, I was given the first 73 questions of a two-part take-home genetics exam due two weeks from yesterday. I better get the first half done by Monday so that I have next week to do the second half.

On December 9th, I have an eight to ten page paper about some topic like the masculinization of successful women in Cloud 9 and Top Girls or the role of faith in daily life in Via Dolorosa and Racing Demon. I still have to come up with topic and thesis, as well as write the paper. Also, there is the genetics take-home exam due.

On December 11th, I have a five page paper about the relationship between social dances and Broadway musical theatre due at 9:30 am, and at 11:00 am I have a three page term paper comparing methods, results and hypotheses of two journal articles on ephrins and eph receptors as respects the development of topographic maps in the brain.

On December 16th, I have a final in Genetics (ostensibly. This final may turn up on the 9th, though I would not expect the professor to be cruel enough to have the take-home final due on the same date as the final exam).
On December 17th, I have a final in Developmental Neurobiology.
On December 18th, I have a final in Modern British Drama.
On December 19th, I have a final in Musical Theatre.

In short, over the next three weeks, my life will really really suck and will be occupied chiefly by homework. And reading. for school, not pleasure.

At least tonight I am seeing Man of La Mancha. On Broadway. Courtesy of NYU. And after all the stress, I will be able to relax.
