I have made a resolution.

Even if I only write one sentence, I am going to write here before I go to bed. Writing takes no more than 5 minutes at the rate I type, especially on days when I do not find myself going into long, obnoxious tirades. Therefore, I have no excuse.

My excuse of course, hypocritically, for not writing recently is that I have found myself too busy. Recent events are as follows: Friday Night Social at FADS, where I dance. Much much fun. Drinking afterwards and throwing peanut shells at each other, thinking "of course, we're twentysomethings going to a bar to act like we're five." Draft cider was yummy, as was joyful dancing and such.

Saturday -- a day of dancing. Lesson when I got up, club where I was supposed to be able to demonstrate and then leave, but ended up staying because of circumstances -- namely no music -- until the end to demonstrate. Well, I didn't stay, actually, I went home to get the music for said demonstrations.

Sunday -- rain, rain and more rain. This did not, however, deter me from trips to 4 separate Express stores to spend my fastcash. Purchases: a new pair of totally unnecessary but thoroughly pretty jeans, a pair of tan corduroy pants, two sweaters (ivory and burgundy) a shirt with a see-through black lace back, 4 pairs of cute panties, three long-sleeved and six 3/4 sleeved shirts in assorted colors and patterns (all necessary as old fall/winter shirts have become tired, ugly and generally nasty looking). Dinner at Cosi and S'mores (yay playing with fire at restaurants!) for dessert. And a wonderfully patient boy who accompanied me through all of this.

Monday: School and dance. Nothing special. Good dance day, however.

Tuesday (today!): School again and more dance. Nothing really special, though I realized that I am ahead of my partner in terms of visible technique. But we dance well together and I enjoy dancing with him, so it is not so horrible. Tonight was irritating because he did not want to be here, did not want to practice, and I saw the necessity of it. It wouldn't have been my first choice to practice, but it was necessary and worth the time. Frustratingly, however, most practice time was spent on my fixing his technique than on improving our lead/follow/routines/figures as a partnership. But, he has specific things to work on now, so this shall change.

Read a play that I hated at first and was sort of intrigued by toward the end because it was of a curious sort and gave one pause for thought. Cecily Hamilton, like Shaw, writes in a way that there is no mistaking her ideals. She is using the characters to voice her thoughts on an unsavory labor situation for women in England at a certain time, and yet we believe and agree with these characters because there is something likeable and redeeming about them, that makes us want to hear their rhetoric.

AND FINALLY! Phone call from Matt! He is a special friend to me... one of the few people in my life that I have met and then with whom I have instantly clicked. (And yes, I did deliberately reword that sentence to avoid ending it with a preposition). We have a way of just talking about interesting things -- having interesting conversations where we perhaps sound as though we talk about nothing, but where we talk about everything at the same time. I am lucky to have such a friend. :-)

Class in 6 hours, up and awake in 5. Goodnight!

Matt's journal entry about you was so good it made my heart hurt for quite a while. You are sooo lucky to have someone feel that way about you, Supergirl :^).
