Shoe cleaning

So. I just washed my shoes. Yes, washed. It turns out that water and ivory soap are very good for removing layers of dust from satin ballroom shoes.

Washing shoes is a much more involved process than one might think, incidentally. This is particularly true of ballroom shoes where water basically ruins the sole, so one tries hard to was the shoe without touching the delicate suede sole. I did this rather successfully, I might add. And although they are not perfectly clean, they look so very very much better than they did before that I believe the washing was worth it.

I want pretty feet and pretty shoes for the competition on Saturday. It is, after all, the last of the season.

I have become a remarkably shallow person. Goodness.
